    This company is a custom/semi custom pool manufacturer that makes the parts for other companies to then sell directly to the customers for installation.

    The role will be focused on design change, material utilization improvement, structural strength optimization, change validation, alternative material qualification as well as identifying opportunities for cost productivity improvement.

    This person will spend majority of their time in their office doing a combination of business relations, engineering, and vender/supply coordination. This company uses Inventor as their main software but are flexible to teach if someone comes from a different CAD software.

    This person will support from the time a customer or vender sends in a quote through project completion. Their time will be spent with suppliers/venders and doing research into products and materials to find more cost effective solutions while maintaining product quality. Will work with the manufacturing floor for quality/manufacturability/test lab, design, and structural/FEA analysis of the steel beam products. Will oversee prototyping, design, testing, documentation, change implementation, change requests etc.

    • Spearhead value engineering projects from idea to commercialization.

    • Interpret and apply Specifications to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols.

    • Evaluate pool structural strength using hand calculation or computer simulation (FEA)

    • Work closely with manufacturing engineering, product design, production to improve the material utilization in the manufacturing process.

    • Collaborate with product management, benchmark competitor products and propose alternative design ideas.

    • Define product specifications and qualification criteria.

    • Develop design concept, create detail design drawings, build prototypes and verify the change in house and with key customers.

    • Write test plan and design/build test equipment as needed.

    • Conduct FEA on new and existing products, interpret the results and provide guidance for design improvement.

    • Conduct validate test, in lab, at production floor and installation site.

    • Collect and analyze test data, draw conclusions, and write test report.

    • Maintain accurate records of design change.

    • Maintain and update BOM and validation documents.

    • Interface with supplier to resolve DFM issue and ensure the supplier quality.

    • Collaborate with cross functional team for smooth project execution and implementation.

    • Identify and escalate opportunities for improvement of cost productivity to management

    Must Have

    1. Associate's Degree minimum in engineering or technology (could be mechanical or structural or civil)

    2. 4 + years within product development tied to product improvements and cost reduction

    3. FEA or structural analysis

    4. Steel
