    What You Will Do...

    • Develops expertise in the equipment and uses this expertise to improve operations in the

    department, and consults/serves as a mentor in these areas.

    • Takes reasonable risks in trying new, self-generated ideas.

    • Utilizes innovative and constructive thinking to define problems and develop courses of

    action.

    • Routinely applies advanced problem-solving methods.

    • Utilizes effective problem-solving skills

    • Utilizes special knowledge, or skills to significantly improve plant operations.

    • Support process productivity by interacting with operators and following key process

    conditions as a process engineer asset.

    • Ensure plant systems (like SAP) contain needed and correct information to promote

    accurate and timely Maintenance support.

    • Communicates complex technical issues and accomplishments across departments and to

    site management.

    • Independently performs assignments requiring application of techniques, procedures and

    concepts to solve complex problems and recognizes their relative importance and

    implications.

    • Prioritizes tasks effectively

    • Applies experience as well as technical training to assigned problems

    • Applies basic statistical techniques to problem solving (Control charts, Pareto

    analysis)

    • Makes recommendations based on prior knowledge, calculations, experimental work and

    limited site exposure

    • Takes ownership of processes and systems that successfully address overall plant needs.

    • Completes needed Root Cause analyses as part of continual improvement activities.

    • Willing to help support electrical/technical systems issues in a backup role.

    • Willing to learn about other outside areas in an effort to develop support for these areas

    -Plans and manages Preventative Maintenance events

    • Provides technical leadership within the department.

    • Conducts MOC's and PSSR's for projects, installations etc.

    • Leads cross functional problem-solving teams

    • Conducts basic technical and economic evaluations

    • Learns and demonstrates effective safety management techniques including risk

    assessments and safety investigations

    • Supports waste reduction programs

    • Support plant wide program needs for things like Process Safety, Mechanical Integrity,

    radiation, etc.

    What You Will Have...

    - B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field

    - Minimum of 3 yrs. experience preferred

    - Good oral and written communication skills

    - Willingness to provide off-hour support as needed

    - Excellent troubleshooting skills

    - Experience with material processing and material processing equipment preferred, but

    not required.

    - Ability to work in a team-based environment

    - Efficient at data analysis; Statistical approach to problem solving

    • The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
