Mechanical Piping Designer

Job Description

An engineering client in the KC Metro Area is seeking to add multiple Mechanical Piping Designers to their growing team. If you are looking for an exciting new role with competitive salary and quick upward mobility, then this is the perfect role for you. This client is open to candidates with only a year or more of experience in AutoCAD 2D designing site plans, plot plans, and P&ID drawings as well as someone up to expert level with 3D modeling for piping. Job duties are listed below. Not all job duties are required of a more entry level candidate:

- CAD Design of basic equipment layouts, piping routings that are consistent with codes, standards, and client requirements.

- Working with the structural department on supplemental steel for pipe support design.

- Generation of Smart P&IDs.

- 3D modeling of equipment and utilization of vendor provided equipment models.

- Creation of piping drawings (Isometric and Plans/Sections) for shop & field fabricated piping systems.

- Coordinate work of other lead designers assigned to the task.

- Ensure that discipline leads have the correct project standards and checklists.

- Maintain and update the overall 3D model as required.

- Prepare engineering drawings and documentation.

- Participate in meetings with clients as requested by Project Manager.

Skills and Requirements

- Associates degree in drafting and design or related degree

- 4+ years of experience doing 3D modeling for piping

o OR 1-2+ years of experience designing plot plans, site plans, P&ID drawings in AutoCAD 2D - Bachelor degree in design/drafting

- Strong 3D piping experience null
