  • Manager of Application Support

    The Manager of Application Support will supervise, manage, lead, and have overall accountability for the performance of the Technology and Security (TS) Applications Support team. The leader is responsible for ensuring staff effectively respond to incidents and requests for service via the phone, ticketing system, chat, and e-mail. The Manager of Application Support plays a key role in creating a culture focused on safety, service excellence, technical systems availability, and continuous improvement for the team.

    Oversee Applications Support Team Operations and Maintenance Activities

    • Lead the team in creating, maintaining, and implementing processes and procedures that guide the appropriate guidance and direction on basic systems operations and maintenance, including incidents and outages.

    • Work with Application Services teams in the development of applications life cycle management activities. .

    Coordinate Additions and Changes of Applications Support

    • Establish and maintain processes for supporting new applications that are deployed across the district.

    • Ensure systems support process and procedure changes are properly communicated across the department.

    • Work closely with the Applications Services staff and management to ensure escalations and interactions between the teams are positive and seamless.

    Leadership and Collaborative Efforts

    • Collaborate with leaders across the district to identify service improvement opportunities and solve problems.

    Team Management Metrics and Reporting

    • Develop and maintain staff performance metrics.

    • Establish Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) for regularly performed functions.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in related field and 3-5 years of experience as a leader in an IT Operations or Application Support environment or a combination of education and work experience that provides the necessary skills to perform the essential job functions.

    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

    • Knowledge of personal computer software and hardware.

    • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

    • Exceptional organizational skills, problem solving skills, and flexibility to respond to changing priorities

    • Team player with the ability to share knowledge and develop colleagues for the overall benefit of the team and organization.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain NERC access authorization as well as unescorted access at Fort Calhoun Station.

    Desired

    • Master¿s Degree in a related field

    • Position related certifications

    • Experience driving positive organization change

    • Experience managing in a contract employee environment
