    POSITION SUMMARY

    The NDT Inspector Trainee is responsible for assisting certified personnel in performing non-destructive testing of customer material while learning required skills towards certification.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

    1. An NDT Trainee shall learn how to:

    a) Properly handle customer materials using forklifts and overhead cranes

    b) Safely load and unload customer product into inspection tanks

    c) Read and interpret inspection procedures.

    d) Use PC based computer software to run inspection equipment, retrieve inspection information and document Work Order information.

    e) Use basic math to calculate inspection parameters.

    f) Make mechanical and electronic adjustments to inspection systems to meet inspection parameters.

    g) Fill out inspection reports.

    h) Perform preventative maintenance tasks, as directed.

    1. Trainees should be able to:

    a) Maintain a clean, organized, safe workstation.

    b) Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

    c) Sit for one or more hours at a time.

    d) Reliably report to their workstations on time as scheduled.

    1. Trainees will be asked to perform other ancillary duties as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. High school diploma OR GED Certificate necessary.

    2. Training or Experience in non-destructive testing preferred.

    2. Possesses good communication, organizational and observational skills.

    3. Proficient problem-solving skills with good judgment and decision making.

    4. Ability to complete daily work assignments and stay on schedule.

    5. Great attention to detail for completeness and accuracy.

    6. Possesses strong math and analytical skills.

    7. A working knowledge of MS Office applications preferred.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.

    2. Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds.
