    Network Software Validation Technician

    Hillsboro, Oregon

    Contract to 3/2020

    Role: Network device driver software validation technician.

    Job Overview:

    \t

    • Function as part of a team to validate network drivers on various OSes and hardware.\t

    • Execute manual and automated test cases using validation tools and automated environment.\t

    • Manage test servers, install and configure new servers and guest OSes. Plus grub bootloader knowledge.\t

    • Create automated scripts to update and manage installed software, drivers and features.\t

    • File problem reports on defects found in the bug tracking database to enable SW engineers to debug and resolve problems and improve product quality.\t

    • Perform basic debug of the systems to assist in the problem identification and resolution.

    Skills required, not limited to the following:

    \t

    • Hands-on experience with virtualized network environments.\t

    • Proficient/expert in Linux/Windows testing and debugging.\t

    • Strong networking skills applied to virtualized environment, e.g. virtual switches, distributed switches, VLAN, subnets.\t

    • Task automation experience and Strong scripting skills: Python, Perl, Bash, Shell.\t

    • Knowledge of TCP/IP (preferably L1/L2 layer) protocol and troubleshooting tools.\t

    • Must have experience in all the following network performance testing using tools, netperf, iperf, ntttcp, and Chariot.\t

    • Experience in writing documentation, creating bug reports and working with bug tracking systems.\t

    • CISCO or other networking certification / courses are desired (but not mandatory).\t

    • Strong knowledge in working with different server hardware (i.e. HP, Dell, Supermicro, etc.).\t

    • BS in CS or Computer Engineering.\t

    • Self-motivated and ability to work in a dynamic environment.\t

    • Proficiency in python and python unit testing.\t

    • Should be able develop test automation framework, develop scripts to test Ethernet Linux and Windows Drivers.\t

    • Should be knowledgeable in Network protocols testing.

    Nice to have skills:

    \t

    • Experience in Jenkins and Continuous Integration technologies is a plus.
