  • Description

    • creating assembly models, assembly drawings, bills of materials and engineering change management.

    • with Design of Experiments and engineering/design validation testing

    • executing tests and maintaining test records

    • creating tools and jigs to support Production

    • in translating marketing requirements to product requirements.

    • design for manufacture & design for assembly

    • in tolerance analysis

    • with product safety compliance including CE & FDA laser safety.

    • with product development phase gate process and full product life cycle

    • working directly with customers i.e. customer facing

    • extensive use of Solidworks

    • project management

    product development, mechanical design, tolerance analysis, FMEA, APQP

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    Education

    • Mechanical design, strong preference for opto-mechanical experience

    • Minimum of 10 years experience

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or opto-mechanical, or a related field

    Preferred experience

    • use of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, specifically Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

    • conducting Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) to validate a design

    • with Zemax for optical modeling

    • developing medical devices
