PC Technician

Description

Robert Half is searching for a PC Technician for a role in the Education industry who can communicate with technical and non-technical users understandably and concisely and who can solve complex technical issues. If you are a self-starter and enjoy solving problems and working in a positive, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you! As the PC Technician, you will work in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, region. This role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.

What you get to do every day

• Take down, box and ship out of date equipment

• Service a variety of computer hardware, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and refurbishing PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and other IT equipment

• Help test functionality and support end users

• Handle take down, packaging, transportation and setup/installation on site

• Manage equipment inventory, collaborating on purchases as needed

• Arrange repairs with the suitable vendors

• Own and execute technology implementation projects

• Document all daily data communication transactions, issues and solutions or installations

• Image and set up new computers

• Install printers, troubleshoot problems and make repairs

• Ensure that ticket submitters receive frequent and effective communication

• Complete PC-to-PC data transfers and troubleshoot software/hardware and break/fix

• Ensure the integrity of all electronic data records by following company quality standards

Requirements

• Strong familiarity with Comptia A+

• Solid understanding of software technology

• MS Windows 10 experience

• Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

• Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Knowledgeable of network design and implementation strategies

• 1 - 3 years of experience supporting PC and Mac hardware and software, as well as knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN

• CompTIA A+ certification required
