    Job Summary :

    The Principal Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring that the engineering work products delivered to our customers meet their specified technical requirements and are developed using approved development processes and procedures. The PQE must be able to work independently within a cross-function, matrixed organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with program quality and various engineering disciplines.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Interface with cross functional teams (program managers, engineers, CM, DM, HW and Security) as appropriate.

    • Must be able to communicate effectively with program management and personnel within the business (including on and off site).

    • Interface with site personnel to ensure program requirements are met.

    • Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with limited supervisory intervention.

    • Participate in site maintenance to ensure the Operational Availability of the GPS OCX System.

    • Participate in the software integration, and test phases of development.

    • Participate in Operational Change Control Boards and assure submitted packages are complete and actions are tracked to completion.

    • Participate in and approve test plans, procedures, and deliverables.

    • Interface with customer and Government Quality Assurance representatives in support of program, corporate and third-party audits, and assessment.

    • Support product verification and validation activities in support of customer sell-off.

    • Support mission assurance activities in support of a development and sustainment programs.

    • Perform independent software process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.

    • Review correctness of formal test procedures and test configurations, and participate in Regression test or functional checkout, including post-test actions.

    • Experience in Product Audits.

    • Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test).

    • Must be willing to travel to customer sites (domestic & International), the program site and work overtime.

    Basic Qualifications :

    • Typically requires a bachelor's in science, Technology, Electrical Engineer, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.

    • Working experience within Engineering and/or Quality Engineering.

    • Working experience with software and hardware processes, software/hardware lifecycle; requirements, design, Implementation, and software/hardware testing.

    • Working experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and/or other engineering and manufacturing related documents.

    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years' experience.

    • Experience with ISO 9000 and AS 9100 Quality Management Systems.

    • Experience working in a Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) Development environment.

    • Experience utilizing DevSecOps Metrics to monitor program performance and proliferate continuous improvement activities.

    • Scripting experience i.e., Python, Perl, and bash.

    • Experience delivering presentations to senior leadership.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) MS Access and Project.

    Additional Information:

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
