    As a Real-time Defect Analysis (RDA) Process Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for all aspects of your process module pertaining to defect detection, reduction, and analysis.

    This includes but is not limited to the following:

    • Identifying and troubleshooting defect-driven issues and participate in the elimination of such defect sources

    • Participating in or running weekly cross-functional defect reduction meetings

    • Working closely with process owners to develop defect-reduction experiments

    • Maintaining and/or developing inspection and review sampling plans

    • Identifying and maintaining correct statistical limits for defect monitoring charts

    • Performing data mining to identify tool/process toggles

    • Analyzing experiments, process/tool releases, and determine statistical impact to product

    • Designing and implementing partitions and experiments for defect source analysis and characterization

    • Being the point of contact for all defect issues (both data and systems) relating to your portion of the process

    This position requires the ability to learn new software application skills quickly and to utilize proficiently. You must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be capable of participating in and driving large meetings. Demonstration of analytical problem-solving skills, efficient time management, organization and multi-tasking abilities are also essential for this position.

    Successful candidate must have:

    • A good understanding of existing defect detection & analysis methodologies

    • A good understanding of manufacturing process flows and memory fabrication

    • A general understanding of all fabrication areas, their tools, and processes

    • An understanding of common fab defects, where they originate and how they can affect yield

    • An understanding of electrical fail bins and device functionality

    • Extensive data mining and analysis

    • An understanding of technical writing and presentation of technical materials

    • Solid understanding of reporting software such as JMP, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    • A good understanding of statistics

    • Existing fluent knowledge of standard data analysis

    • Must be willing to work weekends or evenings, if necessary

    Academic Discipline(s): Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Integrated Electronic Systems, or Materials Engineering
