  • A Snapshot of Your Day

    As an engineer in the global team for Assembly Tools & Lifting you will be responsible for order specific design execution of assembly and lifting tools design for all turbo compressor product lines. You will work in a competence center for all assembly and lifting tool aspects for new unit as well as service business.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    • Project- and order execution in the field of mechanical design of special tools incl. technical and scheduling responsibility as well as compliance with the required quality.

    • Sales support for projects - even those not covered by design standards.

    • Securing SE process compliance, especially regarding all quality aspects

    • Identify and address deviations/issues in projects.

    • Ensure quality and timely deliveries of engineering documentation.

    • Initiate and guide solving activities, root cause analyses, and corrective as well as preventive action implementation.

    • Develop assembly concepts for special requirements, such as difficult customer environment or specifications.

    • Develop, use and maintain several strength analyses according to safety standards and relevant directives or laws.

    • Define lifting procedures incl. required interfaces and equipment and detect processes which must be changed or improved for all compressor parts from 15kg part up to complete compressor packages.

    • Create lifting and assembly studies during project phases.

    • Advise compressor engineering, sales, field service, shop assembly or other colleagues with regards of assembly and lifting

    • Maintain network to manufacturing (also suppliers) and shop assembly to implement feedback and improve the process.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical Engineering / process engineering or similarly related field

    • 3 or more years of relevant experience in related field. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.

    • Excellent communication skills and teammate to support and serve the global team.

    • Ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines.

    • Hands-on experience in working with NX, Teamcenter, Jira and SAP

    • Proactive and solution oriented. Ability to pull inputs and interact with interface partners.

    • Experience with International Rules & Regulations like 2014/68/EU, 2006/42/EC, 2014/34/EU, UC, CSA, NORSOK are a plus.

    • Experience with Industry Standards like API 617,614, 692, 686, 670, 671, PTC-10, NACE, ASTM, and EN/DIN material specifications are a plus.

    • Experience with mechanical strength calculations and/or FE Analysis is a plus.

    • Practical experience in compressor assembly shop is a plus.

(~~~) The base salary range for this position in Olean or Painted Post, New York is $68,400 - $127,000.

    Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
