  • Product Designer - Directory Services

    Job Description

As a Product Designer for the Sage Network Directory Services squad, imagine being at the forefront of innovation in the financial management industry. We're on the hunt for visionary minds ready to design a groundbreaking industry platform. Not only is this an opportunity to influence this industry's trajectory, but also create a product with tangible, real-world impact that will transform the way our customers (SMBs) do business and achieve success. Join us and be a part of something monumental, shaping the future as we know it for SMBs and Financial Professionals. Your design. Your legacy. Are you in?

The Sage Network is a new platform, the first of its kind in this industry, and the future of digital accounting. Revolutionizing the accounting domain, the Sage Network is transforming what were once manual workflows-such as emailing invoices and awaiting payments-into a seamless digital flow. It empowers our SMB customers by connecting, automating, and synchronizing their accounting and financial transactions, not just within their internal workflows but also with their customers, buyers, suppliers, banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies, regardless of their usage of Sage software products.

Democratizing Business Identity: The Revolution of the Sage Network Directory Services

In the realm of business transactions, identity is paramount. It forms the foundation of trust and compliance between companies. Yet, in our increasingly digital world, a centralized, authoritative digital identity platform has remained conspicuously absent. This gap has rendered processes like loan origination, vendor onboarding, customer onboarding, supply chain finances, and banking inefficient and cumbersome.

Sage Network Directory Services is poised to revolutionize and democratize this landscape. We are pioneering the first identity service of its kind-a platform that enables businesses of all sizes to share and access legal, financial, and reputational information in a digital, secure, and scalable manner. Our innovative approach aims to democratize business interactions, making them more accessible, streamlined, and efficient, thereby reducing inefficiencies and enhancing trust and compliance across various sectors.

Your Mission: To play a crucial role in developing our Directory Services, focusing on designing features that facilitate efficient information exchange and networking between companies within our accounting software platform, much like LinkedIn does for professional connections. You will work extensively with 'feature flags' and various aspects of user identity, access rights, compliance regulations with governments, active directory integration, and more.

    What Sets This Role Apart?

The Sage Network is more than just a project or a new platform; it's our strategic priority and the future of Sage. This is your chance to be a vital contributor, ensuring the best user experience is primed and ready for its launch to the world - granting you high visibility across the company and growth opportunities. You'll have frequent opportunities to present to and engage with stakeholders. Your ability to influence with data, logic, and openness to proactively welcome and incorporate feedback will be the key to your success.

    Meet Your New Team

Your immediate colleagues will consist of 6 Product Designers, a UX Content Writer, and 2 UX Researchers, all reporting to a Sr. Director of Product Design & Research, who trusts and empowers the team to do what they do best and is highly invested in their development and success. The Sage Network BU acts like a start-up; they are given the reins to move quickly and make decisions. You'll join a larger group consisting of product managers and dedicated engineers. The Sage Network squads are designed with the skills to come up with practical and valuable solutions (our users adopt and use), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business), usable (the user can figure out how to use it) and feasible (designers must create intuitive user interfaces and information architecture to minimize any learning curve while making it easy to complete tasks or use features).
