    Our client in Ann Arbor is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive lighting supplier with a manufacturing plant in Sparta, Tennessee, and a technical center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They are looking for a Product Engineer with mechanical background based in Ann Arbor. This position reports to the Product Development Manager and is responsible for working with Application Engineering and other cross functional project teams in order to define realistic and achievable product designs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Utilize the escalation process when necessary in order to draw attention to, and help develop mitigation plans for risks to product development.

    • Utilize structured problem-solving methods to analyze and solve problems related to product failures throughout the life of the product (DFMEA, 8D's etc.).

    • Support Program Managers in technical discussions with the customers.

    • Support PDT meetings as required.

    • Support tooling/equipment tryouts, at suppliers and Rebo manufacturing sites.

    • Generates presentations for customers (internal and external) and management as required.

    • Prefer some level Catia experience for evaluating design data.

    • Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    Must Have Qualifications

    • B.S. degree required in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    • Minimum of seven (7) years experience in automotive industry.

    • Knowledge of interior and/or exterior lighting component design OR Plastic Injection Molded Automotive components

    • Knowledge of plastic materials, plastic injection molding, optics, basic electronic circuitry, manufacturing processes, tooling, fixture design, and product validation.

    • Familiarity with global lighting regulations.

    • Experience developing DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) and DVPRs (Design Verification Plan and Report).

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

    • Experience with Rivian, Honda, Nissan is plus.
