    Program Management and Quality Assurance CAE Engineer

    Job Description & Qualifications:

    This position involves mainly in program management and quality assurance specific to development and release of physical and semi-physical powertrain focused engine, transmission, driveline, electrical system, and vehicle CAE/plant models that are used by Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) engineers to develop and validate new control system technologies and to enable analytical calibration.

    Responsibilities

    Program Management, Product, and Product Creation Supports

    • Participate regularly in the program kick off, assumption, and/or engineering development / implementation meetings as necessary to gather CAE specific technology planning information

    • Gather program information, assist planning of CAE works, and help drive the on-time delivery of CAE model, SIL package, and analytical calibration

    • Gather user feedbacks, conduct user survey, and provide improvement opportunities to the development team on a quarterly basis

    • Review and monitor JIRA issue request and status, drive weekly prioritization agenda and release plan, to drive on-time program delivery and/or proper resource planning

    • Analyze SIL/HIL usages and user profiles and report out quarterly to ensure growth and proper capacity planning

    • Measure modeling and SIL development time and drive process improvement opportunities

    • Ensure CAE process and workflow are properly documented and drive compliance

    • Create and maintain plant model maturity, coverage, fidelity and use case charts on a regular basis

    Quality Assurance and Modeling Style Guides

    • Work with CAE/modeling engineers to develop and publish modeling guidelines, drive common working practices, and implement modeling style guide checks to enable consistent modeling practices and to enable global sharing of models

    • Develop means to create and automate the publishing of plant model and CAE product documentation and drive consistency across subsystems

    • Review and drive proper coverage of the test plan, test cases, test coverage, testing harness (unit level, SIL or HIL) utilized, and test results

    • Schedule design reviews when necessary as one aspect of ensuring quality CAE product deliverables

    Integration and Release

    • Support the integration and release of program specific SIL packages

    • Support integration of subsystem models into the SIL architecture

    • Support CAE technology transfer from research and development staffs

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree

    • 5+ years of experience in vehicle powertrain (PT) systems, including combustion engine operating principles and/or automotive applications

    • 3+ years of experience in engineering program management and/or project management

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proven ability to work independently, foster teamwork, and drive resolution of issues even in situations where lead responsibility might not be clear

    • Manage complex, multiple projects while spanning functions, organizations, regions, cultures

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

    • Highly motivated/self-starter and outstanding interpersonal skills

    • Proficiency in utilizing managerial, organizational and interpersonal skills

    • Familiar with applying product quality controls or related methods (Green belt or Black belt certified)

    • Work knowledge of Model-based Design (MBD) or CAE tools/methods, controls and calibration development tools, and testing and debugging automotive embedded systems software a plus

    • Familiarity with creating or applying Modeling Style Guides for ISO 26262 compliance a plus
