Programmer Analyst

Description If you have a strong comprehension of software and applications programming and industry requirements, Robert Half has an excellent opportunity to become a Programmer Analyst in the Information Technology industry. You would create and define systems scope and objectives in this role. Through research and fact-finding, you will make recommendations for developing or modifying applications or databases. This long-term contract / temporary Programmer Analyst opportunity is found in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.

What you get to do every single day

• Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst

• Guides internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation through troubleshooting and/or education

• Build and assess programming changes for every phase of systems development prior to implementation. Record test cases and expected results. Ensure results meet requirements. May develop basic tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May make suggestions regarding acceptance/rejection if not all requirements are met

• Helps develop communication content for particular system changes being implemented in production

• Evaluates user requests for systems changes or improvements. Registers functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Recommends how, when and whether to make the changes

• Trains and assists end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process, on an ongoing basis

• Analyzes and records issues, collaborating with other programmers to fix code problems

• Evaluates processing procedures and suggests ways to improve Requirements - Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements

• Comprehensive understanding of programming languages

• Solid understanding of Python

• Microsoft Azure experience preferred

• JavaScript experience

• Typescript experience

• General knowledge of mainframe hardware/software and PC operations required Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
