  • Description: Directs and manages support for either, or both, internal and external business-related social functions, luncheons, symposiums, banquets, VIP customer visits, ceremonies, mission events, conferences, and VIP briefings for both national and international events. Manages the overall planning and development of protocol operations. Develops and administers budgets; evaluates and assigns staff services for support. Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations. Functions as an advisor to the unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to meet critical schedules or resolve complex problems.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.

    Experience communicating with executive leadership and high-level customers providing presentations.

    Proven project management experience.

    Event management experience, coordinating across functions and programs.

    Knowledge of United States government and international protocol.

    Desired Skills:

    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

    Experience preparing detailed project plans and managing large-scale, multi-faceted projects.

    Comfortable and effective working across multiple organizations, locations and levels of leadership.

    Basic understanding of the requirements for working with foreign and US governments and military.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
