  • Overview

    Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a Software Testing and QA/QC Analyst to join the corporate team in our Raleigh, NC office.

    You're a motivated, self-starter with a strong foundation of software testing ready to take on the opportunity of implementing software QA/QC. Your dynamic skillset will be utilized to work with new software and technologies as you help define, plan, and conduct testing strategies. You will work side-by-side with our development team, and other internal partners as you build out the testing pattern and infrastructure.

    This is an in-office position.

    Responsibilities

    • Define, monitor, and maintain the overall test strategy for custom business applications and system integrations

    • Determine testing standards by creating best practices, policies, and procedures

    • Document and present software testing results, quality metrics and make recommendations for continued testing process improvement

    • Actively participate in requirements and design sessions to create test plans

    • Implement and utilize both manual test cases and automated testing tools and frameworks to perform functional, system integration, data quality, and performance/load testing

    • Identify creative ways to break applications and solutions

    • Troubleshoot and assist in the diagnosis of unintended results from testing

    • Utilize bug tracking tools to report, document, and track bugs

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or related field

    • 2-4 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    • Natural collaborator with strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to handle multiple projects and work on business-critical solutions across a variety of different disciplines

    • Ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels; and understand the needs of different stakeholders and communicate with them appropriately

    • Thorough understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    • Understanding of web, software, and application development process and methodologies

    • Experience with NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB) a plus

    • Experience testing against .NET and Angular applications preferred

    • Experience with software development management tools (Azure DevOps preferred)
