Remote Data Engineer

Job Description

The Data Engineer III is responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and development of scalable data-management systems. The Data Engineer III is responsible for the design, execution and monitoring of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations. As a senior member of the Business Intelligence team, the Data Engineer will design solutions independently and with the Data Architects. The Data Engineer is able to perform complex data modelling. Additional responsibilities of the position include conducting data analysis, data integrity, and quality assurance testing; creating reports and dashboards for data consumption by the user community; assisting the Data Architect Team with evaluating data-management technologies, and performs other related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years of professional experience in Software Development.

-Hands-on experience with MS-SQL, C#/.NET

-Experience designing and consuming RESTful services

-Familiarity with Git or similar distributed version control system

-DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (ex. Azure DevOps)

-Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (ex. Agile, Waterfall, SDLC, etc.)

-Hands-on system integration/ETL coding experience

-Experience with ETL tools (ex. SSIS, ADF, etc.)

-Data Modeling experience (ex. Snowflake) -Business Intelligence experience in Higher Education.

-SQL administration knowledge

-Azure-SQL, Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Azure Data Lake

-Familiarity with Data Lake/Lakehouse concepts null
