  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a Remote Mechanical Design Engineer who has extensive pump design experience for a multi year contract opportunity. Will also consider individuals with experience designing large equipment, areas of knowledge working with large bearings (load bearing, slow speed rotational bearing, high positional accuracy) ASME Division 3 experience (not piping), OR ASME pressure boundary experience.

    Description

    • Lead and conduct mechanical design, analyses, evaluations, and verifications for the Natrium Primary Sodium Mechanical Pump.

    • Responsible for supporting work on projects with low to moderate complexity.

    • Execute the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define the Natrium Primary Sodium Mechanical Pump to meet business standards and program / product requirements.

    • Performance of fundamental engineering hand calculations and modeling.

    • Develop drawings and specifications to assure products can reliably meet all engineering and quality requirements.

    • Maintaining focus to assessing causality and risk.

    • Preparing and presenting technical data to internal customers.

    • Lead/facilitate discussion and information exchange to promote open dialogue including working effectively in a matrixed team environment.

    • Ensuring that product designs meet all intended application and design requirements by working with experts in other functional teams.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Mechanical Pump Design.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write organized engineering documents.

    • Additional preference within experience and expertise of large components design, bearings experience, etc..

    • The larger the equipment and product, the better!

    Additional Information

    • 100% fully remote opportunity.

    • Pay Rate: $55-$75/hr based on experience.
