    Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented RPR and Construction Inspector to join our team in either the Dover, DE, or Lewes, DE offices.

    You will have the opportunity to use your skills and passion to contribute to a dynamic range of municipal engineering projects. Typical projects would include street, sidewalk, and drainage improvements; water and wastewater treatment systems; wastewater gravity sewer, pumping station, and force main systems, water distribution and storage systems; stormwater management facilities; erosion and sediment controls; and development of park and recreational facilities.     Responsibilities:

    • Construction review and oversight of contractors on a variety of projects including municipal engineering projects.

    • Review, understand, and interpret project plans and specifications, shop drawings, product data, RFIs, and change orders

    • Perform scheduled tests, observations, and inspections in accordance with applicable test procedures and project requirements

    • Completion of field documentation in a timely manner, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms; project field reports; field notes; soil, concrete, and asphalt datasheets; monitoring; and chain-of-custody forms

    • Perform quality control review, field observation, testing, and sampling of construction materials, including soils, concrete, masonry, pavement, and steel construction

    • Operation of various types of field equipment (e.g., GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, nuclear density gauge, etc.)

    • Collect data through independent research and file review

    • Perform basic computations and process data using computer software or other established methods

    • Prepare reports, drawings, payment applications, progress and completion reports, tables, spreadsheets, graphs, soil boring logs, and other illustrations to document and summarize project data

    • Operate and maintain company vehicles

    Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in Construction Technology, Management, or related discipline; Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline preferred

    • 0 to 5 years of experience with construction observation, reporting, and consultation

    • Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment

    • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances

    • Must have a personal vehicle to travel to company offices and work sites; When feasible, a company vehicle may be provided for use on construction sites

    • Must possess a valid driver's license

    • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • OSHA 40-Hour Certification

    • Troxler Nuclear Density Gauge Certification

    • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Certification

    • DNREC Certified Construction Reviewer (CCR)

    • ICC Special Inspector Certification (concrete, masonry, and steel)

    • NICET (Soils, Asphalt, or Concrete)

    • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
