    SMX is hiring an SCCM Engineer to support our Marine Corps client. This is a hybrid role based in Quantico, VA.

    In support of our Department of Defense (DoD) client's mission to provide enterprise network operations and computer network defense, the SCCM Engineer will provide support to the Enterprise Service team.

    The SCCM Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the global enterprise SCSM platform used for the management of Incidents, Problems, Changes, Service Requests, Automation Request, collaborating with management, application technical support analysts and developers, internal and external support teams, both CONUS and OCONUS, for solving issues, architecting, configuring, and delivering system improvements and reports. The individual will leverage their experience to provide reporting analytics to facilitate queue management and on-going improvements.

    This role also has responsibility for supporting the other System Center components including Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, and Orchestrator, as necessary.

    Additional duties and responsibilities include:

    • Perform administrative tasks from the Service Manager console, provide application support for the SCSM platform and create and maintain services and associated data

    • Review and update SCSM console security, apply patches, create SCSM console roles and reviews, and create and install custom Management Packs (MP) as needed

    • Develop reports and dashboards as approved by management

    • Deploy workflows for common processes

    • Grant permissions to allow responsible groups to manage resources and work queues

    • Create and maintain Service Manager templates

    • Create, modify and troubleshoot SCSM workflows

    • Utilize verbal and written communication skills to maintain accurate system documentation and provide training as required

    • Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Clearance Required: Top Secret

    • Highly qualified candidates with a Secret clearance will be considered, but must be eligible for upgrade to Top Secret clearance

    • Minimum of Security+, with ability to obtain IAT Level III certification within 180 days

    • DoD 8580 IAT III (CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCIH, CCSP, GCED, or CISSP (or Associate) (With a Security+ CE candidate will have 180 to Attain IAT III)

    • Professional level certification, i.e. MCSA Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, MCSE Core Infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator

    • Thorough working knowledge of Windows Server 2019

    • Thorough working knowledge of Active Directory as it relates to enterprise technologies

    • System Center Orchestrator Experience, Deployment and Infrastructure, integrating a Run Book with SCSM, Creating and troubleshooting Run Books Experience with System Center Operations Manager 2012

    • Understanding of the other System Center Products and how they integrate with SCSM, System Center Configuration Manager System Center Orchestrator, System Center Operations Manager

    • Ability to maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use

    • Ability to identify and troubleshoot server performance issues using native Windows Server tools and utilities

    • Maintain a "forward looking" posture and work with management to plan for future upgrades, including SCCM migration to the newer versions

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 7 years related experience

    • Strong experience with SCCM, planning, deploying and migration, including experience cluster management

    • Experience with ITIL Foundations, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Request Management

    • System Center Orchestrator Experience, Deployment and Infrastructure, integrating a Run Book with SCSM, Creating and troubleshooting Run Books Experience with System Center Operations Manager 2012

    • Experience in building, tuning and maintaining servers in an enterprise environment.

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to follow policies and procedures

    • Ability to communicate in a clear speaking voice as well as the ability to respond clearly to questions

    • Aptitude to address negative situations and resolve them in a positive manner.

    • Extensive knowledge of AD architecture - databases and logs, mail routing and protocol support.

    • Thorough working knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and 2022
