Security Installation Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Security Installation Technician to join one of our clients located in the Charleston area. This person will work with a variety of low-voltage security systems, including but not limited to: Access Control, Readers, Panels, Door Locks/Hardware, CCTV, Cameras, Wiring and DVRs/NVRs. This person will be required to travel and support a large enterprise user environment with over 85 physical locations in the Charleston area. A vehicle for transportation will be required and qualified applicants will need to have a clean driving record. The work hours for this position are M-F 7am-3:30pm.

We are looking for a reliable individual who can work with minimal supervision, manage their time effectively and provide proactive updates back to the team while traveling on the road. This person must be skilled at communicating to end client as well as their team lead since they will be working remotely at one of the 85 sites in Charleston.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience working with communication protocols: LAN, WAN, WLAN RS-485 RS-482 RS-232 IP Addresses

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics

• Ability to manage time effectively without constant supervision to call and schedule appointments, follow instructions and code requirements

• Experience installing and troubleshooting security systems such as Access Control Panels, Card Readers, CCTV, Security Cameras

• Excellent customer service skills and past experience working in a heavily regulated environment for security

• Committed to continuous learning and able to attend training sessions

• IT or Electrical background - Come from a security-specific background

• Experience with transitioning security systems and implementing a new one

• Worked with Avigilon products before

• Cabling experience null
