    Micron is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help lead the design and optimization of electrical distribution systems at the Boise, Idaho campus. You will have the outstanding opportunity to supervise design, construction, and startup of high and low voltage electrical systems required for the operation of a new 600 thousand square foot High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) DRAM cleanroom facility!

    In addition to supporting the new HVM facility, the Boise campus is the headquarters for Research and Development and thus you will also be engaged with meeting the needs of next generation tool sets and driving system and sustainability improvements to support future technology nodes. Scaling and transferring these improvements to HVM locations across the globe is a critical responsibility for company future success.

    You will be performing your job in collaboration with other dedicated domain experts to achieve team success as a facilities organization. Driving safety, sustainability, reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness will be your pillars for excelling in this role. Collaboration with production engineers and technicians to ensure their needs are being met is a key focus. Partnering with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) to produce next generation system design improvements is another responsibility and chance to create an impact in this role.

    Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Safety & Quality:

    • Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standard processes

    • Leading quality improvement initiatives in area of expertise to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and drive cost savings

    • Owning content of construction specifications, design standards and design checklists that ensure quality, efficiency, and safe work

    Communication & Collaboration:

    • Partnering with key team members to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics

    • Listening to customer feedback, recognizing opportunities, and driving technical innovation

    • Coordinating contracted engineers, designers, and manufacturers to deliver results on projects and initiatives which they have been hired to provide.

    Project Management/Planning:

    • Leading projects to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule, and budget

    • Preparing project Basis of design (BOD) documentation for bidding by third parties.

    • Tracking system capacities and future loading to ensure upgrades are completed on time

    • Review and approval of project design drawings and 3D models

    • Review and approval of field installations during construction

    • Review and acceptance of commissioned systems

    • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals and RFI's

    Qualifications:

    • Confirmed ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectively

    • Validated skills in working effectively with team members from different subject areas

    • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improve

    • Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences

    • Proven experience with electrical system designs

    Education and Experience:

    • Required: Bachelor's Degree; Electrical Engineering

    • Preferred: 5 or more years of proven experience

    Additional Job Responsibilities:

    Provides engineering for semiconductor manufacturing site facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, including semiconductor tool installations and R&D applications, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Completes engineering for requested changes to develop estimates for design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs for semiconductor manufacturing sites, including R&D applications. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

    The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

    $74,000.00 - $153,000.00

    Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
