    Collins Aerospace is seeking a Site Industrial Engineering Senior Manager to lead continuous improvement strategy and execution, using lean, six sigma & Industrial Engineering capabilities to further develop the continuous improvement culture. This position develops, implements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to support growth and improved customer satisfaction through operations improvement that includes, but are not limited to safety, customer value proposition, quality, productivity, delivery, cycle reduction, waste elimination and growth, margin expansion, and inventory.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Lead the site in the implementation of Industrial Engineering tools to:

    • Oversee implementation and iteration of enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.

    • Work cross-functionally to imbed Industrial Engineering tools and processes in manufacturing or assembly facilities.

    • Study product requirements and determine capital equipment and labor staffing to meet requirements.

    • Conduct machine capacity analysis and identify/manage improvement initiatives to increase efficiency (OEE)

    • Conduct labor capacity analysis and identify/manage improvement initiatives to increase efficiency & productivity.

    • Gather and analyze historical data, forecasting future demand, assessing available resources, balancing capacity and demand, identifying constraints, and developing long-term and short-term mitigation strategies.

    • Develop methods to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and manage human capital more effectively.

    • Design layouts of equipment and workspace and improving process flow Participating in and leading Kaizen events

    • Analyzes efficiency data to identify opportunities for improvements.

    • Supervise assigned Industrial Engineers and provide necessary guidance to ensure goals are accomplished.

    • Participates in Gemba walks, continuous improvement initiatives, standard work development /modification /adherence, flow, takt time attainment, and problem-solving abnormalities causing takt misses.

    • Support the launch of all activities needed to incorporate Lean Transformation and daily management into the Value Stream culture, including:

    • Assisting in identifying on-going training needs

    • Supporting communication of the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to employees

    • Utilizing a change management model to drive the lean culture transformation for the Value Stream

    • Ensure high levels of engagement for Rapid Improvement Events and Value Stream(s)

    • Drive continuous improvement culture change through coaching of employees and leaders to drive lean behaviors and follow the principles and practices of lean manufacturing.

    • Track all changes/improvements made to provide Value Stream Leadership/Management the assurance that changes are effective and lasting.

    • Review new procedures/controls and appraising the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and working with the Value Stream Coach, Site Leader, Department Managers and Supervisors to resolve any issues that might arise during implementation and/or maintenance phases

    • Execute other tasks and projects, as required.

    • Comply with the company's policies and procedures including those related to safety and quality compliance

    • Develop and mature the Industrial Engineering team / ensure bench strength

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

    • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor in Industrial Engineering, preferred

    • Experience in continuous improvement (eg Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)

    • APICS CPIM Certification or equivalent experience.

    • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
