Job Description Summary

The Enterprise Monitoring and Observability team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced, Senior Monitoring Engineer. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large, distributed, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. Position is eligible for fully remote work.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide monitoring and observability solutions that enable top class proactive and efficient management of our IT infrastructure, applications, and services. As Senior Engineer, you'll help drive innovation in all aspects of observability, monitoring, and event management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Key responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable monitoring and observability solutions across our diverse IT landscape, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level objectives (SLOs) for applications, services, and infrastructure components.

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present monitoring data and insights to stakeholders, promoting data-driven decision-making.

• Implement event correlation, alerting, and incident management processes to ensure prompt detection, diagnosis, and resolution of issues across the enterprise.

• Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging monitoring and observability tools, techniques, and best practices to enhance our capabilities and meet evolving business requirements.

• Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Engage with vendors and service providers to evaluate solutions and ensure the successful delivery of services in line with organizational needs.

• Evaluate, select, build, maintain and engineer tools and monitoring solutions to provide key visibility into operation of technology assets on-prem and in the cloud

• Support and collaborate with various teams to drive forward automation, event enrichment, event correlation, and event management

• Add to and Improve the quality of technical documentation

Basic Qualifications

• Strong understanding of large-scale applications, network architectures, micro-service architecture, monitoring and fault management

• Strong Experience with multiple Enterprise Monitoring systems

• 5+ years' experience in designing, installing, configuring, and supporting monitoring solutions on an enterprise scale

• Able to find opportunities for improvement and drive results without external direction

• Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.

• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Strong Python / scripting skills

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively remotely

• Dedication to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross training

• Excellent communication skills and ability to distill complex matters into concise summaries

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AIOps and event correlation.

• Experience in Agile methodology, for AppDev or infrastructure deployments

• Knowledge of various monitoring systems such as Dynatrace, Zenoss, DataDog, Aternity.

• Working knowledge of other modern development tools and languages such as CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.

• Familiarity with success measurement - SLI/SLO/SLA

Compensation Range

$70,000 - $101,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. ?Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. ?In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
