    We are the Azure Communication Services Team, seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. Azure Communication Services (ACS) is a Communication Platform as a Service offering, launched at Ignite 2020. We empower developers to augment their existing solutions or build new ones that allow people around the world to communicate using reliable and high-quality SMS, Chat, PSTN, Audio/Video calling, meeting, email, and other communication services. ?

    Our service platform is globally distributed, highly scalable and built for Cloud.? The world continues to scale towards remote work, learn and play.? Running software as a service means more than just developing and releasing features.? Ensuring reliability and serviceability is?a critical?part of?software?cycle.? This is where you come into the picture. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will ensure the service of ACS infrastructure runs smoothly with required reliability and availability.? You will design and implement software to automatically resolve issues.?? You will work closely with feature teams to design, implement and release features that are reliable and serviceable.?? You will be a cross-domain expertise who has a holistic view of our cloud service.?

    Responsibilities

    • Act as subject matter expert for configuring, troubleshooting and monitoringAzure services.

    • Identify opportunities and implement automation to resolve and reduce live-site incidents.

    • Design and implement solutions to improve service health, manageability, performance, reliability and telemetry.

    • Own, triage, investigate, and resolve service issues with emphasis on broad communications, learning, and teaching throughout the process.

    • Author and maintain functional and technical documentation. Define and maintain process and procedures to run enterprise service.

    • Collaborate with other Azure teams to build practices to implement within the team.

    • Ability to meet on-call responsibilities periodically.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    • 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration

    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration.

    Other Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 4+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience.

    • ??Experience in developing highly scalable Service Reliability services and extensive experience using cloud online services.

    • Experience working with Azure, preferably with Service Fabric.?

    • Understanding principles of platform engineering and experience in applying for a globally distributed service.??

    • Understandingcomputing orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Service Fabric, etc.) and how they work (deployment, high availability, etc.).

    Site Reliability Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
