As a Qualcomm Software Test Engineer, you will design, develop, create, and modify test cases and validate embedded software, cloud software, system algorithms, application software, automation, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Software Test Engineers collaborate across various engineering teams and functions to design and implement test plans.

Qualcomm Markham site develops AI solutions optimized for mobile, IOT and Auto platforms, enabling features such as intelligent camera systems, voice recognition, gesture control, and AI-powered user experiences. As a SW testing engineer, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to ensure the quality and timely delivery of our cutting-edge technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of work or academic experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 3+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience with technologies similar to Qualcomm.

• 2+ years of experience with Advanced Development Skills (e.g., Database Management Software, API's, Web Development Tools) and Test Frameworks.

• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments.

• Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and drive .

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Full stack web development knowledge is a plus.

• Familiarity with Jira, Jenkins and Git is a plus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and improve various CI pipeline including but not limited to various environment upgrades, setting up additional hardware, adding new test cases, and creating more user-friendly interfaces and workflows.

• Designs and implements test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to identify a failure within a determined area of code.

• Educate developers on existing/new features regarding our Continuous Integration pipeline via demonstration and assistance .

• Take ownership of small projects or owns part of a larger project or pipeline and complete tasks in a timely manner according to project requirements .

• Closely collaborate with AI SW team including compiler, runtime, driver and framework team to follow up on regression failures in a timely manner ensuring the quality of our latest solution.

• Assists with various requests from development team such as collecting performance data, reproducing bugs, various manual experiments etc.

• Research and explore and present and implement various solutions for meeting requirements with minimal supervision

• Develops test case automations and/or scripts to improve productivity.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.

• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).

• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
