    This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer on the Helmet Vision Systems team in the Vision and Sensor Systems organization. The Helmet Vision Systems team provides situational awareness capabilities to rotary wing, fixed wing, and surface customers in domestic and foreign markets. The team develops helmet mounted displays and digital night vision products by integrating sensors, processing and display capabilities to meet specific platform requirements. The HVS team transitions technologies from research and development into full production rate, qualified products.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Specific responsibilities of this position include algorithm development, modeling, simulation, and performance analysis of night vision and other Electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems. This position will also contribute to Night Vision system and subsystem requirements analysis, definition, and validation and systems and subsystems integration and requirements verification testing. Strong domain knowledge combined with software development skills are required to develop system models that will support the analysis and design of our next generation Helmet Vision Systems. This position requires effective technical collaboration among systems, hardware and software design functions; assisting in resolving technical problems that cross functional domain areas of hardware and software; and supporting customer platform integration. The candidate will serve as a technical leader for modeling, simulation, and performance analysis activities for night vision system development.

    Skills that we are seeking:

    • Electro-Optical System performance modeling

    • Knowledge of advanced electro-optical systems to include imaging systems in multiple spectral bands

    • Knowledge of advanced display technologies, to include experience with micro-display and projection technologies

    • Experience developing and demonstrating advanced video and image processing algorithms for EO/IR systems

    • Experience with Modeling and Analysis Software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, NV-IPM), to include Mathworks code generation tools

    • Maintain an active interest in studying, learning, and continuous self-development

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required." "U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

    • 10% travel will be required

    This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program.     The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
