    SML North America (NA) is a part of SML and has about 1,000 employees across the United States, Canada and Mexico. We operate the Central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS as well as Regional Distribution Centers across the NA region.

    What you will do

    The Software Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that leverage the Azure cloud platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, architect scalable solutions, and implement robust applications that meet the needs of our stakeholders.

    You will report to the Manager, Digital Transformation, Development & Analytics and be located in Greensboro, NC.

    Essential Functions

    • Implement and optimize data storage solutions using Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage, and other Azure data services.

    • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecture using Azure API Management and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

    • Integrate Azure services with existing systems and third-party APIs.

    • Implement security measures and best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    • Utilize Azure DevOps for version control, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software delivery processes.

    • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization in Azure environments.

    • Stay updated on the latest Azure technologies, tools, and best practices, and advocate for their adoption.

    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.

    • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and Azure services.

    • Understanding of Azure DevOps for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

    • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

    • Familiarity with ReactJS, ExpressJS, NodeJs is a must.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience with Volvo Performance System

    • Experience with Volvo legacy software like SPOT, VIPS, GLOPPS etc.

    • Experience with SAP modules.

    • Previous experience with Warehouse Management System(s)

    • Previous experience with working in a supply chain environment

    • Experience with developing highly scalable web applications and ability to efficiently use version control tools.

    • As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required

    • Skilled in recruitment, development, and management of talent

    • Energy, drive, and the courage to lead and deal with conflict management

    • Strong customer knowledge and focus with continuous drive for customer improvement

    • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 365)
