Job Summary

This position is responsible for successful product design of Seals Products (Spring Energized and/or Rotary Lip seals, Rulon / Meldin products, Springs diaphragms, Injection moulded products, etc) using knowledge of polymer, metallic and elastomer materials and applying general engineering principles.

A strong link between the Sales and Technical Team you belong to, bringing together simulation, materials and testing experts to solve the most advanced technical issues related to cryogenic, high temperature and dynamic applications, in very harsh environments.

Essential Functions

• Engineer product design solutions which win customer approval for business while maximizing value to SG. A part of the engineering staff in the design and development of products. Interface with customer effectively to ensure the form, fit and function of designs and validation while also ensuring cost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.

• Expand know-how of technical platform and/or competency groups through projects and team collaboration

• Processing of change orders and revisions to current designs

• Help create internal procedures, instructions, and other duties to support engineering group

• Collaborate and assist R&D Lab for carrying out experimental plans by defining test scope, data collection & analysis

Complexity of Role

Ability to work under the pressures of time constraints in a fast paced work environment. Sense of urgency in not only completing projects but being proactive in initiating creative thought to improve processes (Design Approval, Validation, etc.).

Role supports both engineering and sales team. As such, the successful candidate must demonstrate effective prioritization of the workload and efficient time management skills in order to meet both internal and external customer expectations. This may include circumstances where internal and external customer expectations may not be aligned.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science or related field. Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred. 3 to 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment is required. Candidate must also meet ITAR requirements.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450.00 to $135,740.00 . Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
