SOP Specialist

Actalent is looking for a consultant to help support a client creating new SOPs and a standardize process for their work. This person will be responsible for the following:

Description

• Will be re-working, updating, or creating new SOPs from scratch

• Consultant will start supporting SOPs for their mechanical drafting process, including developing rules and formulas for generating a BOM

• This project will eventually lead to updating SOPs for their manufacturing procedures on the shop floor

• The SOPs will be the guide to develop the rules and formulas for the bill of materials

• SOPS will be for the drafting process for louvers and dampers

• This project will start by updating 1 SOP to get a standard format in place, then the consultant will support the next critical SOPs in order of urgency

• Candidate will start with the drafting SOP for an industrial damper

• Collaborating with cross functional teams including drafting, process engineering, design engineering, and plant management.

• Will be working within Microsoft Office, using Word, Excel, and Outlook regularly to create SOPs to later be converted to PDF files

• Working within a unique ERP system created for this facility

• Helping to train current drafting and design staff on new Standard Operating Procedures

• Advising engineering and drafting staff how to train new employees on the updated SOPs

• Will only be managing design SOPs in AutoCAD 2d

• Work will be assigned and directed by the engineering drafting and planning manager

• Consultant will tour and monitor the manufacturing process on the shop floor to understand the current fabrication SOP

Skills & Qualifications:

1. AutoCAD experience from Education or career

2. 5+ years mechanical engineering experience post grad

3. Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering

4. Experience updating, generating, researching, and or creating SOPs for design or manufacturing

5. Engineering experience from a manufacturing or fabrication environment

6. Experience creating BOMs

Preferred Experience

1. Experience leading a drafting or design process as a lead, checker, or project manager

2. Experience writing SOPs for a mechanical design process

3. Experience writing SOPs for a fabrication process

4. Experience managing design projects

5. Experience working in an ERP/MRP system

6. Experience leading a drafting or design process as a lead, checker, or project manager
