Sr Application Engineer

Job Description

The Sr. Application Engineer owns the technical engagement with our customer engineering teams to design and develop technical solutions and associated costing, submittals and performance assurance for the application of Power Generators in the stationary and mobile power generation market. The role will work closely with the Engineering, Sales, channel and supplier partners to help bring most cost effective and reliable technical solutions to meet customer needs and inform our product needs of the future. An ideal candidate will have expertise in distributed energy resources and/or experience in the application of generating resources using natural gas, hydrogen, waste gas (landfill, field gas). This role will be interfacing directly with the customer, and all relevant engineering teams, to ensure the product is integrated into the site successfully. The position will sit onsite in Austin, TX with occasional travel for a day trip to the client site (approximately 10-15% of the time).

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a similar application engineering, sales engineering, or project engineering role within the power generation industry

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar (15+ years of experience may replace degree)

• Understanding of basic industry requirements and emissions standards for stationary and mobile power generation industry (EPA, CARB DG, etc.)

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical subject matter with external partners and customers

• Prior experience working directly with clients to understand the project at hand including technical deliverables - Experience in writing and reviewing subcontractor work scopes and subcontractor agreements

• Prior experience in design and development of microgrids or projects involving natural gas, waste gas, cogeneration, landfill gas a strong plus

• Comes from a power generation service or equipment manufacturing company (ASCO/Schneider, Eaton, Cummins, CAT, Fuji, Generac, etc.) null
