    Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer for one of our retail clients in Des Moines, IA. This individual will contribute to the design and delivery of high performing, scalable and secure platforms, and monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes. Theyll automate infrastructure and application deployments and focus on continuous improvement of our infrastructure through automation. The Cloud Engineer will drive standardization of our infrastructure code pipelines and may contribute to the evaluation of new technologies. This Sr. Cloud Engineer will be a part of a new team that is going to come in and assess the cloud environment and will make a strategic maturity plan to improvements to the GCP environment.

    Skills and Requirements

    5+ years of experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer

    Has to have experience with GCP. -

    o Google Cloud Platform, including a thorough understanding of GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Kubernetes Engine. They should be proficient in deploying, managing, and optimizing applications on GCP.

    Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Look for proficiency with tools like Terraform, specifically for managing GCP resources. Familiarity with Google's Deployment Manager is a plus. Knowledge of version control systems like Git is also essential.

    Experience with containerization and Kubernetes

    o Since GCP is tightly integrated with Kubernetes through Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), experience in deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes is crucial.

    Experience setting up and managing GCP networking resources, such as VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure optimized network architectures for performance and security.

    In-depth knowledge of GCP's security tools and best practices is vital. Look for experience in implementing secure networks, managing IAM policies, using Cloud Security Command Center, and understanding of compliance requirements relevant to the cloud.

    Experience with GCP's operations suite (formerly Stackdriver) for monitoring, logging, and diagnostics. Candidates should demonstrate ability to set up effective alerts and dashboards to monitor the health and performance of cloud applications.

    Strong skills in scripting languages such as Python, which is commonly used for automation in GCP environments. Experience with Google Cloud SDK and command-line tools for automating GCP tasks is important.

    Familiar with cost management and performance efficiency in GCP. They should have experience using tools like Google's cost management tools to monitor and optimize cloud spending.

    Experience working in teams and communicating technical details effectively to stakeholders. They should have experience in leading projects and guiding teams in cloud-based environments, particularly in GCP.

    Continuous Learning and Certifications: Preference for candidates holding GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Developer, or Professional Data Engineer. Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with the latest GCP features, services, and best practices is also key. Plusses:
