  • A Snapshot of Your Day

    This role supports the combustion team within Gas Services division of Siemens Energy. The Sr. Engineer in this role will contribute to our business success, navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment, and solving various technical issues relating to complex gas turbine combustion components. You will be participating in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, you will be on the shop floor ensuring the operators have all the necessary tools and equipment to perform their thermal spray duties and when needed, take a hands-on approach to rectifying booth/equipment issues.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    • Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions, MIs, project briefings etc.

    • Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies.

    • Ensure quality requirements are met during component manufacturing to internal and customer requirements.

    • Provide technical mentorship and training to new and experienced engineers, operators, technicians in coating process technology.

    • Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce coating solutions to meet near term as well as long term goals of our business.

    What You Bring

    • Candidate must have bachelors or master's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or a related technical degree or 15 years of related work experience.

    • Eight or more years' experience in the thermal spray or manufacturing industry

    • Must have experience in the development and application of either HVOF or APS coating processes.

    • Experience in operating and troubleshooting relevant equipment, robot program creation and modification using ABB or Fanuc controls in conjunction with offline programming.

    • Knowledge of mechanical testing methodologies and metallurgical examination and evaluation practices.

    • Familiarity with Lean and or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement.

    • Practical understanding of SAP or other similar computer software and willingness to learn.

    • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

    About the Team

    Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
