    JOB SUMMARY

    ONEOK is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join the Network Services/Design team with the focus on designing and implementing core network solutions. This role provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of network technologies within routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and wireless. The role also involves evaluating and advising on the latest technology trends related to IoT, cloud, and network automation. This Senior Network Engineer will play a key role in developing/deploying solutions that improve ONEOK's network security as well as address changing needs within the business. The skills that are required to have success in this role include strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as a deep technical understanding of the network technologies used by ONEOK.

    Work You'll Do / Responsibilities:

    • Gather requirements from business units, Information Security, and IT/OT infrastructure groups

    • Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies and select new technology vendors

    • Create new network designs/architectures with input from technical peers

    • Deploy/implement network solutions for LAN/WAN, firewall, load balancing, and wireless technologies

    • Develop design documentation such as as-built diagrams and description of network standards/processes

    • Assist with creating documentation for purposes of budgeting and presenting projects to IT leadership

    • Act as highest escalation point for troubleshooting issues within ONEOK network infrastructure

    Qualifications Required

    • 6+ years in networking, with at least three of those leading network design projects

    • Cisco professional or expert level certifications, or IT related bachelor's degree a big plus

    • Ability to work well on cross-functional teams and reliably complete assigned action items

    • Ability to effectively communicate/coordinate w/ key stakeholders when implementing network changes

    • Ability to effectively communicate with leadership on ongoing projects and advise on strategic decisions

    • Experience creating and deploying enterprise-wide network routing designs

    • Experience designing and deploying enterprise solutions for Wi-Fi

    • Experience w/ datacenter architectures involving VXLAN leaf/spine as well as traditional layer2 leaf/spine

    • Understanding of network programming technologies (Python, REST, GitHub, JSON, etc.) a plus

    Location and Travel

    • Hybrid or fully remote work options available. Candidate living or willing to live in Tulsa preferred

    • Minimal travel involved to secondary datacenter and/or remote sites

    This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.

    Job Profile Summary

    Performs complex problem management and configuration management related to IT infrastructure and support. May provide consultative support to less experienced staff.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with other subject matter experts to assist and recommend strategy for core technologies

    • Manage complex problems which escalate beyond the status of incident. Coordinate the appropriate personnel to troubleshoot and resolve the problem

    • Responsible for solving highly technical problems on multiple projects and providing consultative support to internal staff. May act as mentor to less experienced employees

    • Perform root cause analysis on resolved problems. Design and develop appropriate monitoring or other proactive measures to prevent future occurrences

    • Mentor staff members during problem resolution and root cause analysis to increase their efficiency and knowledge

    • Create and review documentation relating to the architecture, configuration and maintenance of infrastructure technologies

    • Provide configuration and engineering for new technologies

    • Lead the support and configuration activities for technologies as an assigned subject matter expert

    • Complete tasks assigned in order to accomplish approved application and/or infrastructure change controls

    • Collaborate with other IT personnel on technology and support issues, providing proactive and timely communication

    • Consult with applications and infrastructure personnel on new initiatives and the impacts they will have on infrastructure

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Works independently with minimal supervision

    • Maintains subject matter expertise in technology infrastructure, equipment and systems including information security and governance

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or an equivalent combination of the following formal education and job-related experience. The level of knowledge needed for this position is typically obtained with ten plus years of experience in a discipline relevant to core IT architecture.

    • Significant experience and understanding of current data center technologies

    • Experience in the implementation, support and function of:

    • Infrastructure hardware configuration

    • IP networking

    • Event monitoring, logging and data collection techniques

    • Public Cloud Technologies

    • Proven track record of mentoring, influencing and facilitating discussions across a wide range of teams and technologies

    • Training and experience related to:

    • Security administration

    • Experience identifying, researching and analyzing core technology problems and performing root cause analysis

    • Experience reviewing and interpreting manuals, journals, computer display screens, computer printouts, error logs and correspondence

    • Experience researching, preparing and composing systems operating procedures and documentation, reports and correspondence

    • Experienced interacting with customers and vendors

    Expected Salary Range

    $110,000.00 - $164,000.00
