    Finalizes the development and design of tooling, components, and/or systems. Adapts existing designs for new models and redesigns current tooling to maintain and enhance the competitive status of the Company's manufacturing methods and capabilities.

    YOUR IMPACT

    1. Manages a 2-4 Engineers responsible for the completion of tooling design and development.

    2. Manages tooling programs, with the help of tooling staff and technicians to completion.

    3. Develop designs from engineering and function specifications from established parameters. Review existing specifications and data as required.

    4. Collaborate with engineers, superiors, and contractors in developing project time schedules and major design considerations toward completion of new designs.

    5. Define and track cost targets for the project provided by Research and Development Manager.

    6. Establish design per manpower requirements and annual volumes.

    7. Possess a professional knowledge of manufacturing techniques, tolerances and costs associated with components related to tooling.

    8. Prepare design sketches and specifications on major features of new models and mechanisms. Prepare layouts, assembly drawings, BOM's and other necessary drawings for completion of projects.

    9. Develop manufacturing build sequence during design and select required tooling and equipment.

    10. Apply ingenuity to produce effective, efficient solutions to product and tooling designs.

    11. Make mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or structural analysis calculations necessary for designs.

    12. Collaborate in plant layout and work station design with Manufacturing.

    13. Identify process limitations and accessibility for Manufacturing purposes during design

    14. Interact with other Design Engineers, Technicians, Contractors, and Suppliers as required to complete new and/or existing designs.

    15. Perform others functions, for a limited time, when necessary.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering minimum or related field

    • 8 Years minimum related work experience

    STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with Creo PTC CAD software

    • Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems

    • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills
