Sr. RF Validation Engineer

Senior RF Validation Engineer Onsite-Rockville, MD This is a W2 permanent role As a Senior RF Validation Engineer (7 - 10+ years of experience), you will participate in test plan design and testing of novel RF/microwave and antenna module development for SatCom user terminals. The candidate should have thorough understanding about RF/microwave and some understanding of antenna engineering, and waveforms. Responsibilities include generating test plans, lab test setup, system integration and product validation, compiling test reports and support debugging during the various test phases.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for test design and hands-on testing of antenna sub-system in SatCom user terminals. The main tasks include:

• Translate product requirements & key product characteristics to test plan and test steps

• Setup the test equipment in the test lab in preparation for testing and executing the test cases during different phases such as system integration, end-to-end product validation, Alpha testing etc.

• Integration & testing of the entire satellite user terminal comprising of active phased array antenna

• Write automated scripts for system and component tests

• Manage the test case to requirements tracking for assigned test plans

• Drive engineering project execution, facilitate technical trade-offs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external development partners on cross-functional collaboration and integration.

• Support the Product team with execution of Over The Air testing and investigation of field issues

• Support Product deployment.

• Support Product Certification team as needed

• Assist/Support field issues including travel to customer sites as needed

• Expect up to 15% of travel depending on the phases of the projects

Required Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree and ten (10+) years of experience, or Master's Degree and seven (7+) years of experience

• Test plan development based on product requirements

• Proven track record of Satcom or Telecom test experience

• Strong troubleshooting and triaging skills in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to effectively collaborate with others to resolve complex problems, work with cross-

• functional teams, resolve conflicts and move projects forward

• Strong experience of using RF test equipment, including signal generator, spectral analyzer, vector network analyzer, etc.

• IT Network troubleshooting skills; DHCP, TCP/IPv4 & v6, Sub-netting, routing, VLANS, etc.

• Experience with test management tools and Microsoft Office

• Travel up to 15% domestic or overseas (as needed)

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience with Linux platforms

• 3+ years of scripting or programming experience (Python, Shell)

• Experience with SharePoint, Confluence and Jira
