Sr Systems Engineer

What does an exceptional Senior Systems Engineer Do?

In this role you will you will be the subject matter expert supporting our Nonstop hardware platform used to process online transaction, critical mission Debit and Merchant applications.

In this role you can look forward to:

Systems Implementation:

• Project planning, implementation and documentation

• Lead Guardian OS, Network, and other major software release planning and implementation

• Configuring, planning and running implementation of system hardware upgrades

• Functions as the technical lead on larger projects.

Systems Maintenance:

• Implementing and maintaining procedures to collect performance metrics and produce system performance and capacity reports

• Performs analyses (e.g., performs technical research in order to assess system performance and capacity)

• Run and maintain 24x7 uptime on the Nonstop systems including client related connectivity, application and platform issues

System Architecture:

• Research products, solutions, technologies, and apply results to create presentations/documentation

• Establish and implement auditing standards and present evidence to the auditors (internal and external) for PCI, FFIEC, and SOC assessments

• Works with business leaders to provide support, advice, and guidance on the accurate application of products/technology solutions

• Applies technical expertise to support the deployment of technology architecture and the total system solution

• Identifying system performance bottlenecks and recommending performance improvement solutions

• Referent platform SME

• Provide mentoring and training to team

• Expert Knowledge of Guardian OS, Nonstop SQL and Nonstop hardware platforms

• Reviews, for accuracy, the technical content of proposals. This requires one to have full knowledge of services.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration :

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

• 5 + years Demonstrated subject matter expertise (SME) in HP Nonstop systems

• Strong understanding and operational experience in a large scale enterprise level environment

• Background in the following :Guardian (OS) and Safeguard (Security)

• NonStop SQL

• NS7X technology (X-Series)

• Replication experience with one or more of the following: Gravic Shadowbase, Goldengate

• Experience with MQ Series

• Networking and data communications with TCPIP and IP CLIM

• Strong knowledge of Nonstop Data Storage

• System design and architecture

• Performance management

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

• NS Java

• OSS

• XP7 Storage

• EMC Data Domain

• Security: Comforte, XYPRO

• Experience with Control-M, IR - Prognosis, NCI - Control & Compare Preferred

Travel: Minimal required
