    Our Human Judgment, Annotation, Labeling, and Operations (HALO) team is a team of innovative and passionate AI Linguists, Machine Learning Engineers, Front-end Engineers, System Engineers, and Program Managers who are driven by an ambitious and exciting charter. Here is an exciting opportunity for a Staff AI Linguist to join our team within the Foundational AI Technologies (FAIT) organization at LinkedIn!

    This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

    Responsibilities

    Drive cross-functional AI quality, evaluation, and data annotation initiatives with AI and Product partners to design and build innovative AI solutions, at scale and with high quality

    Develop and curate qualitative concepts that can be leveraged across LinkedIn ecosystem via human, AI, and hybrid methods

    Partner with and influence cross-functional teams to enhance technical roadmaps, mitigate risks, and establish quality standards of Linkedin AI products

    Lead the development of human judgment pipelines and own the quality for the enablement of AI models' goals

    Provide hands-on technical leadership to all levels of AI Linguists by conducting comprehensive reviews of team designs/solutions, analyzing results, implementing details across multiple initiatives, with innovation at core

    Communicate effectively across functions and elevate the understanding of AI Linguist work across the company

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Computational Linguistics, Language Technologies, Linguistics or a related field

    5+ years relevant industry experience

    Experience with independently building and leading projects to completion

    Experience with large-scale collection of human judgments (e.g. crowdsourcing) and prompt engineering for automated evaluation/data annotation

    Experience with developing annotated corpora to train and evaluate machine learning models

    In-depth knowledge and understanding of the human judgment in the AI context

    Background in written/spoken communication in English

    Experience in programming in Python or similar scripting language

    Preferred Qualifications

    MS or Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics, Language Technologies, Linguistics or a related field

    Experience delivering evaluation solutions for AI-driven products

    Proven experience in driving strategy and vision for respective projects/teams as well as influencing product strategy on adjacent teams

    Experience with i18n and/or multi-modal data annotation and curation is a plus

    Substantial experience in at least one programming language is a plus

    The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $207,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
