    Job Summary:

    This position is for an Engineering Services Staff Technician who is under minimal supervision. Performs moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that hourly associates obtain appropriate training and process certification to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures, and processes.

    • Assist and participate as required in all audits.

    • Assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of procedures as required in support of product or process improvement initiatives.

    • Research and develop new manufacturing techniques and/or tooling to improve throughput, reduce scrap/rework, improve product quality.

    • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to determine best manufacturing process design.

    • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with approved data and conforms to all manufacturing and quality standards and specifications.

    • Maintain appropriate documentation for all work in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.

    • Work with hourly associates and manufacturing support functions to help meet Customer requirements.

    • Drive, implement, participate in all 5S, training, continuous improvement initiatives of the area.

    • Perform root cause analysis and uses problem solving tools: 5 whys, RCCA, fishbone diagram.

    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

    • Proficient with basic mechanical and manufacturing concepts.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment.

    • Basic computer proficiency.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.

    • Working knowledge of engineering drawing interpretations.

    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace or automotive.

    • Experience working in a testing and quality assurance environment.

    • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Knowledge and experience with 2D and 3D modeling software.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing environment and fabrication equipment.

    • Experience with JD Edwards ERP system.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
