    System Engineer

    KBR is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to support our customer in pushing the edge of technology. The successful candidate will possess detailed understanding and experience with spacecraft communication systems/subsystems and operations. The ideal candidate will have experience within the Intelligence Community with a high level of familiarity with standard systems engineering approaches and modeling techniques.

    This position will be assigned within the government program office at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

    Responsible for providing technical management and engineering support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of GPS related efforts in support of the customer's mission. Services include some or all of the following:

    • Assist with development of requirements, program strategies, statements of work tasks, and systems engineering plan.

    • Conducting engineering trade studies and technical analyses

    • Evaluating development and integration of modernized GPS systems onto Air Force / DoD platforms

    • Assessing civil and military mandates associated with Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing to ensure satisfaction of Gov't requirements.

    • Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead technical meetings/reviews.

    • Support the overall project lead and provide support to Integrated Product Teams, conferences, and meetings.

    • Potential for liaison work with other AFLCMC Program Offices, and operational units.

    • Reviewing/analyzing technical proposals

    Required

    • Active Secret Clearance

    • At least 10 years related experience.

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering.

    • Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives.

    • Participation in development, coordination, and execution of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II/III acceptable)

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization

    Desired

    • Level II DAWIA Certification (SPRDE)

    • 4 years of experience supporting a major weapon system Program Office

    • Avionics, GPS/Position Navigation Timing systems, and/or Aircraft Integration experience

    • Digital Engineering experience

    • Model Based Systems Engineering Experience
