    What you'll do...

    Product Delivery

    Serve as the technical lead for new chassis and propulsion technologies

    Drive Technical Design Reviews for new and evolving products and technologies

    Drive Forward model quality disciples including Failure / Mistake prevention, root cause identification and failure mode analysis

    Deliver the technology to our customers.

    Own and maintain technical specifications, standards, and design checklists within the specialty domain. Ensure application and compliance

    Lead technical teams in problem solving as required

    Innovation and Technology Leadership

    Anticipate and plan for the Future in technology and innovation. Provide technical leadership to shape and guide the implementation of new technologies

    Curate innovative ideas and support individuals and teams in the innovation process

    Innovate through feedback and cross functional lessons learned.

    Provide technical leadership through Intellectual Property evaluation and creation (Patents, Trademarks, and Trade Secrets)

    Networking and Communications

    Established professional networks in their discipline.

    Communication skills to make the complex, simple.

    External engagement and representation of Ford Motor Company in standards setting bodies, professional organizations (e.g. SAE), Invited speakers.

    People

    Teach, train and mentor to increase and develop the technical competency in the organization

    Serve as the "GO-TO" for specialty area . Maintain cutting edge skills within the specialty

    Develop teams for future competency needs.

    Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Design, Development and Testing of Automotive Interiors with at least 6 years specifically in Design and Development of specific commodity within Interior Systems

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

    • Experience with and understanding of Interior Systems.

    • Strong understanding of design principles and materials used in automotive interiors.

    • Experience with CAD software.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
