  • About the Role

    Located in San Jose, CA the Technical Support Engineer will provide technical support for Canon's advanced lithography semiconductor production equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for creative candidates with mechanical, electrical, software knowledge who enjoy a technical challenge.

    You will work in various customer sites nationwide, to set up and troubleshoot hardware, upgrade software and work on related application issues.

    This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.

    Your Impact

    • Assist to troubleshoot, repair semiconductor lithography equipment in the field.

    • Assist to install semiconductor lithography equipment in the field.

    • Install, upgrade software on semiconductor lithography equipment in the field or/and lab.

    • Optimize and track both semiconductor lithography process and equipment in the field.

    • Analyze data, identify causes, and provide solutions with other engineers as well as the field service team.

    • Discuss with customers about semiconductor product specifications and testing implementation and methods.

    • Work with customers to improve products performance using analytical and problem solving skills.

    About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

    • Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline required plus 1-2 years of related experience.

    • Attention to detail with excellent communication skills

    • Japanese language skills a plus

    • Excellent leadership skills required

    • Requires attention to detail and patience

    • Familiar with SQL, UNIX, LINUX environment and scripting languages a plus

    • Strong understanding of computer hardware and software languages such as Python or excel macro (visual basic) a plus

    • Knowledge of semiconductor automation system SECS/GEM in SEMI standard a plus

    • Solid understanding in data structures and algorithms

    • Up to 50% overnight travel required dependent on business needs.

    • May require considerable travel valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary. Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.

    • Microsoft Applications (PowerPoint, Word, Basic Excel) skills required

    • Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds individually and for lifting over 50 pounds assistance may be available.

    • Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking and hearing.

    • Some amount of driving required, sometime for multiple hours at a time.

    • Occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs

    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving mechanical / electrical parts, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

    • Working in lab may require wearing gloves, safety glasses.

    • The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, lasers, close quarters, narrow aisles or passageways.

    • The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolutions.

    The company will not pursue or support visa sponsorship for this position.

    In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated salary range for this role; $69,300 - $103,770
