  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    Studies user's experience when interacting with University websites or online portals, making improvements based on research and insights. Identifies technical requirements and develops enhancements to online user interfaces through scenarios, sketches, story boards, user flows, wireframes, motion studies, mock-ups and prototypes. Collaborates with web designers, researchers and engineers, brainstorming concepts from the user's viewpoint. Leads or participates in user research for refinement of ideas and concepts. Stays informed on technology and research on user preferences, identifying opportunities to apply new technologies and interaction patterns to user problems. Designs visual interface and structure, including the interface style, layout and components. Facilitates user-friendly designs that emphasize translating user processes into straightforward user interfaces (UI) and navigation flows. Identifies user profiles and UI needs through user visits and testing and leads structured analyses. Presents results of usability analyses to project teams and leaders with findings and recommendations. Establishes and maintains UI standards and style guides. Modifies UI prototype designs based on user feedback; writes specifications for final design. Ensures that the interface look and feel is intuitive, state-of-the-art and consistent.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborates with web developers, graphic designers and content strategists to refine and execute design that meet goals and brand standards. Assures the quality of implemented versions of designs and provides feedback to web developers to successfully execute distinctive work according to project deadlines and specifications.

    • Uses established front-end programming abilities, design skills, and current web technologies to implement accessible web code, including front-end development in HTML5, CSS3/Sass, or JavaScript.

    • Conducts user research and usability testing to identify pain points and refine user interfaces.

    • Conducts online tests to better define UX/UI requirements and enhancements. Plans and executes formal user acceptance testing.

    • Manages and delivers email marketing campaigns and other digital marketing assets as needed, including banners, ads, etc.

    • Collaborates with the marketing team and other departments to align UI/UX design strategies with overall brand and marketing goals, ensuring a cohesive and unified user experience across various touchpoints.

    • Stays abreast of emerging design trends, industry best practices, and competitor analysis to continually enhance and evolve Simon's digital presence, providing recommendations for cutting-edge customer-focused solutions.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and turning the insights into actionable design improvements

    • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions.

    • Proficiency in website design and prototyping tools.

    • Solid understanding of front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to create a seamless user experience.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $75,650 - $113,464 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
