We are designing and developing hardware and software that provide best-in-class behavior for driver assistance features at all levels of the SAE autonomy scale. Our exciting work demands top-tier technology professionals who can play a key role in the development of sensors, ECUs, models, and software. You will:+ Lead the software development and implementation of algorithms related to imaging, image processing and vision+ Take ownership of algorithm models+ Develop C++ based embedded software+ Deliver high-quality embedded feature software solutions for active safety ECU's+ Leverage knowledge of sensor system interactions to identify performance improvement opportunities and trade-offs+ Lead the development of software designs, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and DVP+ Understand the performance requirements for the sensing system+ Establish feature models to operate with the sensor performance envelope+ Establish procedures to verify performance both quantitatively and qualitatively+ Work with our Hardware-in-the-Loop Team to establish test procedures to reduce dependence on vehicle-level testing+ Support sign-off of software functionality, performance and overall qualityThe minimum requirements we seek+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science+ Four or more years of experience with software development in C and/or C++ (coursework/internship/co-op allowed)+ At least four years of experience designing/testing embedded systems for high-performance, high-reliability computing applications (coursework/internship/co-op allowed)+ Two or more years of imaging, image processing and/or computer vision experience supporting active safety features (coursework/internship/co-op allowed)Our preferred requirements+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science+ Experience mapping image processing algorithms to hardware (e.g., DSP, SIMD, NEON, GPU, FPGA, etc.)+ Knowledge of ISP algorithms, human vision systems and image quality metrics+ Background with open source vision, sensor fusion and machine learning frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, ROS, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe2, scikit-learn, etc.)+ Experience simulating vision/Lidar sensors for algorithm training, validation and testing+ Expertise in the design and development of vision applications+ Understanding of Python, ipython and jupyter notebooks+ Experience with Git, Github, Jira, Agile, Misra C\C++, ISO 26262+ Proficiency with control algorithm development using Matlab, Simulink, etc.+ Solid experience with software architecture and modular application development with model/software+ Proven embedded experience developing production algorithms+ At least one year of experience as an applications engineer for active safety systems (e.g., ACC, AEB, LKA, TJA, Collision Avoidance, etc.)+ Background developing/conducting laboratory and vehicle tests+ Familiarity with data collection/analysis of active safety sensor systemsWhat you will receive in returnAs part of the Ford family, you will enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more.
