Raytheon currently has an exciting IT systems administrator position available that supports a highly skilled VMware Administrator who can thrive in a collaborative, multi-platform environment while holding a Top Secret security clearance due to the nature of the classified data involved. The candidate's responsibilities cover a broad spectrum of crucial tasks, ranging from foundational server and storage management to intricate aspects like cross-platform authentication and VDI infrastructure support.
Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation move support.
Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as proficiency in virtualization technologies like VMware. The administrator must be adept at troubleshooting and problem-solving in a dynamic and heterogeneous environment, ensuring smooth operation and security compliance across the board.
Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.? Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically, requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
Experience with vCenter and hands-on experience with VMware's vSphere suite.
Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
Experience with Splunk, VMWare, SolarWinds, Ansible, Sentris, RSA, Thales, or TGS is a plusScripting Experience

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
