Job #2695840880
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct hydraulic computations and computer modeling and analysis of water and wastewater systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct hydraulic computations and computer modeling and analysis of water distribution and wastewater collection systems using software tools such as Bentley Water Gems and Sewer Gems.
Develop calibrated hydraulic models of existing and new water/wastewater infrastructure to simulate system performance under various scenarios.
Analyze and interpret modeling results to provide insights into system behavior and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other stakeholders to integrate modeling insights into the design and planning of water/wastewater projects.
Work with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Water Gems, Sewer Gems or relational database management software (such as MS-Access, SQL Server, or Oracle) to integrate spatial data into modeling workflows.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate modeling findings and recommendations effectively using strong communication skills.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients regarding water and wastewater modeling methodologies and software applications.
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to water and wastewater modeling.
Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Develop, update, calibrate, and apply hydraulic network models in analysis of water supply/distribution systems and wastewater collection networks.
Identify areas with deficient pressure, fire hydrant flow and provide recommendations for improvements.
Sizing of new and replacement water supply, feeder, distribution mains, and water storage facilities.
Identification of available fire flow to support design of customers' fire protection (sprinkler) systems.
Identification of wastewater collection network capacity to support additional users.
Support to water system operations (water main flushing, startup of supply wells).
Work effectively and collaboratively on project teams serving as subject matter expert on hydraulic modeling.
Importing of CAD/GIS data for evaluation of as-designed water mains/sewer mains in project hydraulic analyses.
Importing of GIS data for new pipes and annual water consumption.
Calibration of pipe roughness factors using field hydrant flow test results.
Calibration of model consumption peaking (steady-state) and diurnal (extended period simulation) factors using operational (SCADA) data from recent peak days and peak weeks.
