    If the answer is yes, then we have a great opportunity for you! Volvo Group is seeking an Expert Onboard Diagnostics Engineer to join our Electromobility North America team in Greensboro, NC.

    What you will do

    At Volvo Group Electromobility NA you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will:

    • Be the North America leader for onboard diagnostics and cert for powertrain on BEV vehicles.

    • Interpret and communicate diagnostic regulations and certification requirements.

    • Create diagnostic requirements for embedded software and system development.

    • Support vehicle development with validation of onboard diagnostics.

    • Assist with preparation work for certification filing.

    • Training others in OBD and certification processes

    Your future team

    Volvo Group Electromobility is responsible for the development of hardware, software, and systems for Battery Electric Propulsion in the Volvo Group products. The Emob North America team focuses on the market specifics for energy storage in batteries, electric motors and drive systems, electrical distribution and charging system, and electric propulsion control. The team secures the quality of the developed and deployed solution meets the demands stated in requirements and acceptance criteria. The unique combination of analytical and technical skills together with understanding of the business requirements and domain knowledge allows the team to verify the quality of the solutions used in our products.

    You are an individual passionate about both electromobility and onboard diagnostics /verification. You are action and result oriented person and can prioritize your time in an effective way to accomplish your goals. Great communication and being a team player are highly appreciated skills by us. You are a person who is always looking for improvements in our way of working.     Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field

    • 12+ years of related experience

    • Experience working with tools such as Vision, Canalyzer, etc.

    • Driver license for car is a minimum; CDL is beneficial

    • Experience with scripting using Python or other tools

    • Previous experience in embedded software development

    • Knowledge of diagnostics legal requirements and powertrain certification (ZEP cert, 1971.1, 1956.8, 1962.5)

    • Experience with diagnostics certification work

    • Diagnostics communication experience (SAE J1979, J1979-2, J1979-3, J2012, ISO 14229, ISO 27145, ISO 15765, ISO 15031)

    • Experience with xEV powertrain operation and diagnostics preferred

    • High analytical ability and passion for problem solving, paired with creative and network building abilities, ensures that you succeed in this role
