    BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

    MSC's internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization. (THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION)

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.

    • Document business requirements and functional specifications for applications.

    • Develop web based and mobile applications utilizing technologies such as Java, Javascript, HTML and XML.

    • Develop QA and load testing scripts to ensure MSC software meet functional requirements, is high performing and can scale.

    • Evaluate tools that can improve developer productivity and efficiency.

    • Gains industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.

    • Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution and/or information technology.

    • Supports assigned manager with project work.

    • Presents intern project results to business leaders.

    • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.

    • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    • High School diploma required.

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university

    SKILLS:

    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.

    • Proficient user of Productivity Tools (Email, Spreadsheets etc.) and Web Browser software required.

    • Course curriculum in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline required.

    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

    • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.

    • Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.

    This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ("ITAR") and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ("CUI").

    Starting hourly pay - $20.00 per hour
