  • Overview

    This job contributes to REI's success by planning, managing, administering, and maintaining the various physical security infrastructures that are essential components of the access control, intrusion alarm and CCTV systems and their related policies. The Security Supervisor is responsible for managing and has oversight of the day-to-day physical security operations for their assigned location(s), including special events, and may supervise additional security staff including but not limited to: employee, contractors and other vendors. The Security Supervisor also has a key role in executing their facilities' emergency preparedness and response plans. This role works to resolve issues directly or through facilitation and engagement of third parties as appropriate. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission.

    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Day-to-day onsite operational support and supervision for a corporate and satellite office in a fast-paced, complex, unique, distributed physical security infrastructure

    • Support and manage access control environments, including, but not limited to: security cameras, burglar alarm, access control (including credential administration), and key/core hardware administration.

    • Responsible to plan, direct and oversee security support for all special events on site.

    • Provide immediate, onsite security support during both planned and unplanned events.

    • Conducts ongoing surveys of the physical environment looking for opportunities to improve overall safety; audits current practices; work with teammates to investigate daily issues, identify discrepancies, and address opportunities for improvement.

    • Communicates security budgetary needs for review and approval.

    • Responsible for operational security at assigned location and provides support for security-related concerns, requests, and questions for other REI properties as needed.

    • Ensures contract or employee security teams are properly trained and uphold the highest ethical standards and REI Values.

    • Supports the safety operations of the assigned site.

    • Reviews incident reports prepared by team for completeness and accuracy.

    • Investigates reports of accidents, injuries, and security concerns and escalates appropriately.

    • Develops and implements corporate policy associated with Asset Protection.

    • Provides solutions for security related concerns, requests, and questions for REI properties as needed.

    • Responds to telephone, ticket, and email requests in a professional, efficient manner.

    • Responds to internal security alarms and emergency incidents and takes actions as necessary

    • Performs various programming and technical project/administrative related activities on the security systems.

    • Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to complete projects.

    3+ Years in Contract Security in a supervisor role or higher

    2+ years in a corporate physical security specialist position with supervision of contract

    security provider

    Certified in access control operations or substantial experience with access control

    systems and ability to obtain new certifications as necessary.

    Technical background in security systems and knowledge of security principles.

    Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, the Internet,

    and Access Control Systems.

    Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.

    Experience building and delivering a variety of system reports

    Pay Range

    $57,300.00 - $86,100.00 per year
